Succesful Adoptions
At Busot Animal Rescue Concern (BARC), we celebrate successful animal adoptions that give rescued dogs and cats a second chance at life. Some animals arrive abandoned, frightened or injured, but with veterinary care, patience and love, they can recover and find their forever homes.
Here we share some of our successful animal rescue and adoption stories from Busot, Alicante. These inspiring transformations show the difference animal rescue can make and celebrate the loving families who have given our rescued animals their forever home.

Annie’s rescue is one of BARC’s most heartbreaking stories, but thankfully it has a happy ending.
Annie was found lying injured in the road after suffering horrific abuse. She had been dragged behind a car, leaving her with a fractured hip, severely injured paws and toes, and deep wounds on her legs that exposed the bone.
BARC launched an appeal to raise money for Annie’s veterinary treatment and recovery. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised €1,200 to help pay for her care.
After three months of treatment, patience and rehabilitation, Annie made a remarkable recovery and was ready for adoption.
Annie was successfully rehomed, giving her the loving future she deserved. Her story shows how rescue, veterinary care and the kindness of supporters can transform an animal’s life.
Gizmo
Gizmo was found abandoned in Busot. He was unable to walk due to Taxoplasmosis which he caught fom eating rubbish or cat faeces. BARC’s volunteers worked with him to learn to walk again. He was adopted and now lives with his parents and eight cats.
The Dustbin Puppies
The Dustbin Puppies reunited in 2026.
Toby
Toby was found as a puppy hanging from a tree put there by a cruel hunter who had also cut his ears and tail. BARC took him in and found a home for him with two of our volunteers. He became a real character always ready with a big grin and ready to climb on your lap, at 45Kg not such a good idea.
